We screened the sPlot database (version 2.1) for vegetation plots in grassland communities. For each of the selected vegetation plots, we retrieved NDVI time series and averaged the maximum annual NDVI values of the year when the vegetation plot was sampled and the following year. Furthermore, we retrieved mean annual temperature and precipitation of the driest quarter from chelsa climate (Karger et al, 2017 a,b). The dataset contains log transformed community weighted means (CWM) for the plant traits listed below and multi-trait functional dispersion (FD), using the r package FD (Laliberté et al, 2014).
