* Short_abstract This data set contains measurements of stemflow and tree and stand properties in an un-managed mixed beech forest (Hainich NP). Stemflow is the portion of precipitation water running down the stem, thus creating infiltration hotspots. The dataset was used for linear mixed effects modeling of the impact of tree, neighborhood and stand properties on a tree's and a small forest patch's stemflow in Metzger et al. (2019): Neighbourhood and stand structure affect stemflow generation in a heterogeneous deciduous temperate forest. See publication for details on the measurement setup.
